Netpharmalab strengthens its presence in the pharmaceutical sector with the acquisition of Docuchem
Netpharmalab, a subsidiary of the AGQ Labs group, has announced the acquisition of Docuchem, a Girona-based laboratory specialising in analytical and formulation services for the pharmaceutical industry. This strategic move will expand and diversify the range of services offered in the life sciences sector, particularly in the pharmaceutical field.
Who is Docuchem?
Founded in 2006 and located in the Girona Science and Technology Park, Docuchem is a laboratory with a team of approximately 35 professionals. Its core activities focus on analytical development, stability studies, method development, nitrosamine analysis, and QC/QP batch release. These services are provided for both conventional medicines and, more recently, biological drugs.
Thanks to its technical expertise and commitment to quality, Docuchem has established itself as a reference laboratory in the sector, particularly known for its ability to offer tailored solutions to pharmaceutical laboratories and manufacturers.
Synergies with AGQ Labs and international expansion
According to Estanislao Martínez, President of AGQ Labs, this integration is part of a long-term strategy to strengthen the group’s capabilities in the life sciences field. “Docuchem’s range of services and expertise will complement the current offering provided by Netpharmalab and AGQ Life Services in Spain, MCI in Costa Rica, and Microchem in South Africa,” said Martínez.
Jordi Bacardit, founder and CEO of Docuchem, highlighted the value of this deal as an opportunity for both national and international growth. “The complementarity with Netpharmalab will allow us to develop a high-level value proposition in the pharmaceutical sector,” he stated.
Strategic presence in Catalonia and Madrid
Catalonia and Madrid concentrate a large share of pharmaceutical activity in Spain. In 2023, the industry generated around 27 billion euros, representing nearly 2% of the national GDP. Proximity to the main industrial hubs is a key factor in providing fast and personalised service.
With this acquisition, AGQ Labs strengthens its position in both regions and stands out as a group with national coverage and a comprehensive offering in pharmaceutical quality control and R&D.
